We believe document conversion should be instant, reliable, and accessible to everyone, from a student converting a thesis to a business processing invoices.

Novitora is free, needs no sign-up, and runs right in your browser, with files stored in the EU and deleted automatically after 2 hours.

We are building for the long term: OCR, automated workflows, smart compression, format detection, and more.
We want a world where documents move easily between systems, formats are never a barrier, and file conversion just gets out of your way.

Application review
3-5 daysWe review every application carefully. We're looking for people who align with our values, have strong fundamentals, and are excited about our mission. You'll hear back with next steps or thoughtful feedback.
Initial call
30 minutesA casual conversation to get to know each other. We'll talk about your background, what you're looking for, and answer questions about Novitora. No technical questions, just getting acquainted.
Skills assessment
Varies by roleEngineering: Take-home project or pair programming session (2-3 hours, paid). Design: Portfolio review + design challenge. Product: Case study presentation. Operations: Role-specific assignment. We respect your time and provide compensation for work done.
Team interviews
2-3 hoursMeet 3-4 team members across departments. Deep dive into technical skills, problem-solving, collaboration style, and culture fit. We want to make sure this is a mutual fit.
Offer
1-2 daysIf it's a match, we'll send a written offer with the compensation details. We give you time to review and answer any questions. Welcome to Novitora!

Novitora is a remote-first company. We don't have a physical office. Our team is distributed across North America, Europe, and Asia. We believe the best talent isn't confined to a single location.
We communicate asynchronously by default using Slack, Linear, and Notion. We have some overlap hours for real-time collaboration, but outside those hours, work whenever you're most productive.

Is this fully remote?
Yes! Novitora is a fully remote company. We don't have a physical office. Our team is distributed across North America, Europe, and Asia. We communicate asynchronously using Slack, Linear, and Notion, with some overlap hours for real-time collaboration.
Do you offer visa sponsorship?
We currently don't sponsor work visas. However, we hire contractors in many countries and can work with employer-of-record services in select regions. If you're already authorized to work in one of our supported countries, we'd love to talk.
What's the salary range?
We aim to pay fairly for the role, your experience, and where you are based. We talk about compensation openly during the interview process, so you always know where you stand before any offer.

What's the interview process and timeline?
Our process has 5 stages: Application Review (3–5 days), Initial Call (30 min), Skills Assessment (varies by role), Team Interviews (2–3 hours), and Offer (1–2 days). The full process typically takes 2–3 weeks. We respect your time and compensate for take-home work.
Do you hire contractors or freelancers?
Yes, we work with contractors in select roles, especially for specialized projects. Contractor engagements can sometimes lead to full-time offers. Reach out at hello@novitora.com with your availability and expertise.
What tech stack do you use?
Our core stack includes **Node.js**, **Python**, and **Go** on the backend, **React** and **TypeScript** on the frontend, with **PostgreSQL** and **Redis** for data. Infrastructure runs on **Google Cloud** and **DigitalOcean** with **Kubernetes**. We use **Linear** for project management, **GitHub** for code, and **Figma** for design.
How big is the team?
We are a small, focused, remote-first team. Every person has ownership over their domain and a direct impact on where the product goes.
What's the equity/stock option package?
We talk about the full compensation package, including any equity, openly during the offer stage. As a small, early-stage team, there is real room to shape the product and grow with it.
Can I work async, or are there required hours?
We're async-first. We encourage 4 hours of daily overlap with your team for real-time collaboration (suggested: 9am–1pm Pacific), but outside those hours, work whenever you're most productive. No mandatory meetings before 10am or after 4pm in any timezone.
