Many converters let you fine-tune the result before you download it. Depending on the file type, you can set quality, choose page ranges, turn on OCR, or adjust resolution and bitrate. Defaults work well for most files, so change these options only when you need a specific result.
Quality settings
Most converters offer quality presets:
- High: maximum quality, larger file
- Medium: balanced quality and size, recommended for most uses
- Low: smallest file, reduced quality
Document options
- Page range: convert specific pages, such as 1-5, 8, 12-15
- OCR: turn on for scanned documents to make the text selectable
- Preserve formatting: keep the original layout and fonts
Image options
- Resolution: set the DPI for print or web
- Resize: change the dimensions during conversion
- Compression: balance quality against file size
Audio and video options
- Bitrate: control quality and file size
- Codec: choose the encoding format
- Trim: set the start and end points
